The plant at Crotone takes advantage of the most modern technology to produce clean electrical energy using environmentally renewable primary materials.

The current production plant following repairs completed in 2012 has an emission capacity equal to 27 MW on the national grid.

The plant has been operational since 2001.

Only biomass from local sources (woodland maintenance or food-processing residues) is used for combustion.
